Spring Décor Design Tips from our Interior Designers

Looking for a change? Then this season might just be the best time to spring into action. With spring comes a whole new range of interior trends. We’re continuing to embrace glam deco accents, whilst adding in some bright geometrics and exotic African motifs.

No matter your size of living space, you’ll want to make it as comfy and appealing as possible. Whatever interior style and budget you’ve set aside one thing that always helps is a little expert advice. With this in mind our professional interior designers have put together a list of helpful spring décor tips.

EMBRACE ART DECO

With flora and fauna bursting into life spring is a season for opulence. Art Deco styling offers this along with a touch of understated elegance. Think lush velvets, vellum, soft shapes, and reflective mirrored surfaces. Marble and brass accents appearing in refined details are an important touch. Incorporate geometric and angular shaped accessories. Don’t be afraid to mix contrasting fabrics, designs and hues when choosing your scatters, wallpapers, window blinds and other decor.

BE BOLD WHEN IT COMES TO COLOUR

Spring doesn’t have to mean purely pastel or floral hues. Colour is set to be bolder this year both on walls, curtains and furniture pieces. Find ways to incorporate ultra violet, navy and emerald green in your home interiors.

CHOOSE KEY FURNITURE PIECES WISELY

A few key stand-out pieces of furniture will help create an overall theme for your interiors. Metallic handles and legs are the perfect finishing touches to add an extra glam feel and signal that touch of lightness that spring brings after winter.

DRESS EMPTY CORNERS WITH PLANTS AND GREENERY

Create your own exciting miniature indoor garden to watch develop over the coming years or, if you don’t have the time, simply opt for some great faux plants that require zero attention but will give your home the look and feel of the real thing. Green will always be synonymous with spring and bringing the outdoors in helps create a feeling of freshness.

REFRESH WITH WALLPAPER

A painted room can be sent into spring by simply selecting a feature wall and adding wallpaper. Don’t think this has to mean patterned. It could simply be a textured paper with elements that reflect the light. Choose a design that picks out the colours of your furniture or accessories to help tie the scheme together.
